The Result

3900 children die every day from water-borne diseases.

(WHO, 2004)

(Hand Washing)

Diarrhea remains the second leading killer of children. A basic, cost-effective WASH strategy like hand-washing with soap, has proven to reduce diarrhea by up to 47%. Research on the economics of sanitation and water indicates that no other single intervention brings greater public health returns.
