CREATE #WASHCanada

The objective of the CREATE in Water and Sanitation for Low-resource Contexts is to upskill the next generation of Highly Qualified Personnel (HQPs) within a interdisciplinary immersive and experiential training environment to acquire the necessary competencies to co-engineer fit-for-purpose solutions to multifaceted problems set in low resource contexts. In doing so, we will collaboratively research solutions for sustainable water and sanitation services to improve livelihoods for the poorest and most marginalised members of our community both domestically and globally.

This program will train the next generation of engineers and scientists to have the knowledge (heads), skills (hands), and mindset (hearts) needed to tackle water and sanitation challenges which is one of greatest issues of historic and global inequity.

This CREATE program will consolidate expertise in water and sanitation for low-resource contexts that is currently dispersed across 8 Canadian universities (UVic, UBC, SFU, Western, Guelph, Toronto, Carleton, and Laval). This will result in HQP trained in a suite of technical and professional skills in high demand in the Canadian environmental sector.
